Kawy z Papui–Nowej Gwinei cieszą się uznaniem koneserów za czystą strukturę, wyważoną kwasowość i niezwykłą różnorodność aromatyczną. Górzysty krajobraz wyspy oraz tradycyjny sposób uprawy sprawiają, że większość kaw pochodzi z niewielkich „ogródków kawowych” – małych działek, pielęgnowanych ręcznie i w pełnej harmonii z naturą.
Ta wyjątkowa kawa wywodzi się z legendarnej plantacji Sigri, położonej w dolinie Wahgi. Jej historia sięga lat 50. XX wieku, a sadzonki wyhodowano ze szczepów słynnej jamajskiej Blue Mountain. Uprawa odbywa się bez użycia pestycydów – naturalnym nawozem są liście i gałęzie kawowca. Ziarna zbierane są ręcznie w idealnym momencie dojrzałości, następnie poddawane 24-godzinnej fermentacji na mokro i suszone w słońcu.
